1. Make your own tooth ‘scrub’
I recently visited the dentist to have a cavity filled, so I have been changing up my mouth care routine a bit to prevent future issues.
One thing that I am loving is my homemade tooth ‘scrub’. I add about 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda to a small container, along with 2-3 drops of oregano oil, one drop of peppermint oil, and one drop of clove oil.
Oregano oil and clove oil are both excellent for your teeth! They both contain eugenol, which eliminates pain and swelling (great if you have a toothache), and they both get rid of the bacteria that is responsible for tooth decay. I use the peppermint mainly for that ‘toothpaste’ taste.
The mix gets a little clumpy with the moisture from the oils, but it disperses and works well!
I am obsessed with this site! It’s like Foodgawker for crafties?…anyway, it’s awesome! I have so many projects pinned to my Craft Board, but I’m usually creating recipes for the blog, so I don’t get around to completing many.
This pillowcase bag could be a quick make though!
3. Lemon juice on your nails
If you’re like me, you probably get so annoyed at how long (or rather not long) a manicure lasts. Lemon juice may be the answer!
Not only can it aid with staining, it can actually help your manicure last longer! Just take a small piece of lemon and rub it on your nails (be sure you don’t have any cuts or this will burn!), let it sit a minute or two, wash, dry, and paint!
4. Baiden Mitten
I love to browse skin products. I’ve been fascinated by skin care since an early age when I began to have breakouts.
I can’t remember where I first came across the Baiden Mitten, but I’m happy I did! I was wary of the price tag on it, but the description, reviews, and the 60 day money back guarantee all convinced me to give it a shot.
This thing is awesome! It does just what it purports, in that, it literally ‘rolls’ dead skin off of your body. I really like using it on my face, as it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth! I used to have bi-weekly microdermabrasion treatments, and I truly feel like the results from the Baiden Mitten are on par or better!
If you’re in the market for a good exfoliator, give this one a shot!
5. Kiwi for energy
Next time you’re in need of an energy boost, try a kiwi on for size!
Kiwi contains twice the vitamin C of an orange, more potassium than a banana, and as much fiber as a bowl of bran flakes. In fact, a study by Rutgers University looked at 27 of the most commonly consumed fruits, and concluded that ounce for ounce, kiwi ranked as #1 when it came to nutrient density (source).
Not only is kiwi affordable, it’s a low GI food, meaning it won’t spike your blood sugar, and it’s packed with folic acid, which is involved in red blood cell production, and, thus, energy.
