Lately, I’ve been all about the spelt.
…the recipe needs a bit of work, but I’m loving the taste of the crunchy outer shell and the soft inner flesh!
My oldest daughter has trouble with wheat, but its been so far, so good with spelt (fingers crossed)…AND I love that there is less concern of genetic modification.
We dipped this in a fruity California olive oil, and it was such a treat!
2. Face Mask
My newest face mask revolves around the almighty avocado.
After watching a recent Dr. Oz episode, I was inspired to make the same concoction as the one showcased, and I just loved it!
I mashed about 1/4 of an avocado until smooth and then added in a couple squirts of lemon juice, along with about one teaspoon of coffee grounds (all rough measurements, obviously).
Avocado alone really softens and moisturizes my skin, while the lemon juice aids with lightening pigmentation, and the coffee acts as a natural exfoliator.
Being the frugal couple that we are, my hubby and I typically buy our vehicles off of Craigslist.
The drawback with my allergies is that I often can’t take the smell left behind by a previous owner, be it because of cigarette smoke, air fresheners, or the like.
Recently, however, we invested in an ozone machine, which is touted to kill mold and bacteria, and rid anything from cars to entire houses of strong odors.
We are hoping that this allows us a bit more freedom in the next month in finding a new car for our growing family!
4. Digestive Aid
Ah, the ever-present digestive upset of pregnancy, how do I hate thee?
If you’re currently pregnant and suffering in the same manner, may I suggest you give hydrochloric acid a try?
I often eat a meal only to feel like it’s literally sitting right below my ribcage (thank you, baby). Even a small bite or two can cause discomfort (10 more weeks, 10 more weeks, 10 more weeks), so I’ve recently been supplementing with hydrochloric acid to give me a bit of relief.
It’s been working well so far, but please check with your doctor or do your own research on the matter, as I am NOT a doctor of any sort. I just thought I’d pass along my experience. 🙂
5. Coconut Flour
Another flour I’m really loving lately, I thought I’d pass along this awesome list of coconut flour recipes, in case you’re looking to give it a try!
OUTSIDE the food world, I’m enjoying…
