This 'fruit cereal' is a filling snack made without grains or chocolate - Yogurt, milk, low sugar fruits, and a bit of honey combine to make a special, cooling treat!
Let's yak
First off, thank you very much to all of you who left a comment about our upcoming baby. In truth, my personal life is a bit odd, and I don't have the friend and family base most people do, so reading your comments means more than I can express here.
Today's recipe is more informal, as the measurements are a bit subjective, but I've really been enjoying this lately and wanted to share it!
I don't know about you, but sometimes, the off-the-cuff, imprecise recipes are the ones I enjoy most.
Can there be treats without chocolate?
May I complain to you that it's tough for me to NOT have chocolate every day?! I love it so!
In contrast to the 'balanced' and 'all things in moderation' mindset that abounds, I'm more of a deprivation and punishment kinda gal, in that, I only allow myself chocolate four days each week.
Levity aside, I try to rotate my foods, and in an attempt to avoid becoming allergic to the magical bean, I don't eat it some days. Those are the hardest food days, as I long to have it's sweet, caffeinated bliss in my boca!
Alas, I have tried to find alternatives that I can look forward to just as much, and this snack has been ranking pretty high.
Fruit cereal
This sort of started out as an ordinary berry yogurt bowl, but slowly evolved into what I sometimes call 'fruit cereal'.
I begin with a base of plain, full-fat yogurt, add in a splash of Homemade Coconut Milk or Walnut Milk, half a chopped apple, some frozen berries, cinnamon, and honey.
See, not so much a recipe, but still worth a hot, summer day post, particularly if you're looking for something without chocolate!
