A few simple ingredients combine to create this delicious chocolate overnight oats recipe. Made with oats, milk, cocoa powder, and a little maple syrup.
How's about a cozy bowl of chocolate oats?
I recently created this based on a craving for cold chocolate oatmeal and what resulted was something that all my kids loved.
What's great about this recipe, and overnight oats in general, is that there's no cooking involved.
Stir the ingredients together the night before and let the mixture soak and marinate in the fridge overnight, and you wake up to a scrumptious breakfast!
Ingredients and substitutions
- Rolled oats
- Cocoa powder
- Sea salt
- Cinnamon
- Milk of your choice
- Maple syrup - Honey can be substituted.
- Vanilla extract
Recipe steps
Very simply, stir the oats with the cocoa, salt, and cinnamon to evenly disperse the cocoa.
Then, stir in the milk, syrup, and vanilla.

Enjoy in the morning!
Variations
- Add in a spoonful of peanut butter
