Thanks to a sweet reader (Asleigh), I’ve embarked on a new health regime.
Internet opinions are quite differing when it comes to hydrogen peroxide therapy. People either love it or hate it, but a doctor I trust wrote a pretty in-depth article on the matter.
My main interest in the solution, as you might guess, is it’s (possible) ability to help allergies.
I’ve read various accounts of asthma and COPD-related healings, and one woman even claimed that after six weeks of therapy, her husband was rid of his dairy allergy!
In addition, with the upcoming flu season, I’m hoping that by taking it regularly, it will ward off a particularly nasty bug I seem to get every year.
I’ve only been taking it for about one week, but I’ve already seen a few signs of its benefits, including faster healing and less itching. If any of you have ever tried it, I’d love to know your experience with it!
2. Ice Water
One particularly lazy day I was at home watching Dr. Oz when he started discussing easy ways to pull yourself out of an afternoon slump. Convenient.
One of the easy ways mentioned was to drink a glass of ice-cold water.
I gave it a shot, and while I didn’t feel like I had a shot of caffeine, I did feel a bit more chipper! Anyhow, I just thought I’d pass it on in case anyone wanted to give it a shot.
3. At-Home Abs
Oh, YouTube, how do I love thee for at-home workouts?!
People, do NOT pay for a workout program unless you’re looking for a strict, all-inclusive plan to follow. If, however, you just need a few new exercises, YouTube is the most awesome FREE resource you have!
They all have such great, quick workouts that you can do at home while your dog and new baby watch you quizzically, AND they’re effective!
One of my favorite ab workouts is this one from one of my favorite fitness ladies, Denise Austin:
Only FIVE minutes people!
4. A New Dog Bone?
Something rather interesting about my pooch, Gus…he absolutely loves broccoli stalks!
I don’t know what it is, but every time I go to cut broccoli, he is right there waiting for his treat, which I usually toss anyway, so what a great use for them!!
Try them on your doggie and let me know if he/she feels the same!
5. Cast Iron Skillet Cleaner
Take a gander at this…
The picture on the left is a rusty old pan destined for the trash. The picture on the right is of the exact same pan, about 20 minutes later.
I thought this, my one and only cast iron skillet, was done for, until I read this awesome tutorial on how to clean them!
Now, I have a bright, shiny new pan that I’m excited about again, and all I needed were two cheap, household items. 🙂
What’s new with you?
