I had a great shopping experience this weekend.

Fruit and Veggie Cold Cereal (Grain-Free)

Ordinarily when I go to a grocery store, it's crowded and I'm fighting to make my way around both customers and employees, who are conveniently in my way stocking the exact produce I need.

On Sunday, however, my husband and I loaded everybody up early to get our shopping done. It was a great decision, as aisles were clear and no workers stood in my way.

I was also so happy to find deal after deal on some of the items we ordinarily buy sparingly because of the price.

In particular, sardines, eggs, and apples were all insanely cheap! One of the first things I saw when I entered the store were organic apples on sale for 48 cents a pound!! Holy ghost, I literally bought like 50 apples with unabashed glee. 😀

To boot, the girl who checked me out was incredibly efficient.

I have a tendency to pick checkout lines with employees that are either too slow or too chatty.

Trader Joe's is notorious for their chatty cashiers.

'So, how are we doing today?', they always seem to ask. 'Didja do anything fun over the weekend?', 'What are you up to today?'....good grief, can ya just ring me up? Without much of interest to offer them, I often say, 'not much, how about you?', turning the question back on them.

That can be a mistake with some clerks, as it often seems to open a can of talkative worms regarding the latest concert they've been to or the like, distracting them from the one task I wish they'd focus on. I don't know what it is, but people seem to like to talk to me! ¯_(ツ)_/¯

After my pleasurable experience Sunday, I went home and promptly went online to write a positive review, of my cashier, in particular, and proceed to make my breakfast, including one of my many bountiful apples in the mix.

This 'cereal' may seem a bit unconventional, and it is, don't get me wrong. For myself, however, I'm always looking for ways to healthfully have cold cereal without actually having the traditional Raisin Bran types from my youth.

While overnight oats are an awesome option, this is a pleasant change with a grain-free twist.

By processing everything into small bits, and topping it with some of my favorites, like raisins and goji berries, this recipe is a great, healthy way to enjoy a bowl full of yummy!

I really thought I wouldnt like this cereal but its sooo good. We love rolled oats with milk and this is a nice addition to that. We top it with extra nuts and raisins or peanut butter and bananas or whatever we've got. Its delicious with yogurt as well. Thanks so much for posting.
