These Greek Yogurt Chocolate Chip Muffins are a delightful treat that's higher in natural protein, thanks to the addition of Greek yogurt. They're sweetened with maple syrup and made with whole grain flour, and they make delicious snacks!

These chocolate chip muffins are awesome, and I love the fact that they have Greek yogurt in them for protein purposes.
I make this recipe at least once a week, as it's one of my personal favorites.
When it comes to eating carbs, I really value the balance protein adds. I definitely notice a huge difference in my blood sugar when I have a treat that has protein versus one that doesn't.
This recipe is so simple too, as it can be made in one bowl! These make great afternoon snacks and are easy to pack in a lunchbox.
Muffin ingredients

- Greek yogurt - Both full-fat and 2% work well for these; I do think non-fat would work, though I haven't tried.
- Melted butter - Grapeseed oil also works, as does olive oil, though olive oil lends a taste my oldest daughter doesn't appreciate.
- Maple syrup
- Egg
- Vanilla extract
- Whole grain flour - Whole wheat, spelt, and barley flours all work well! I'm partial to barley flour myself.
- Baking powder
- Baking soda
- Sea salt
- Chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Using chopped chocolate from a chocolate bar is far more economical than buying chocolate chips!
How to make Greek yogurt chocolate chip muffins
These are super simple, in that they're made in one bowl.
Begin by mixing the wet ingredients together in a large bowl.
Next, sprinkle the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt over the top of the wet mixture. Add in the chocolate chips at this time as well.

Stir the batter until the dry ingredients are moistened.
Divide the batter among eight paper muffin cups and top with extra chocolate chips, if desired.

Bake 12-15 minutes or until the tops of the muffins are springy to the touch.
