    Our New Addition!

'I feel like someone is missing...'

    20150609_1812551

That's what my husband and I said to one another before we finally decided on trying for a third baby last Fall, and now that he has finally arrived (!!!!), we feel pretty complete.

While I won't delve into every detail of how our little guy ultimately came into the world, I will tell you it was a hell of a ride.

I'd been having labor symptoms since my 37th week of pregnancy, so my husband and I have been pretty frazzled for the last month.

With his job as a fireman, he can be on various calls, including fires, for any length of time, leaving him unable to attend to his phone, were I to go into labor. Needless to say, this was incredibly stressful!

As our June 8th due date approached, I even began to wonder if I would be overdue, given that I was having so many 'false alarms'. This was quite dejecting, as this pregnancy has been my most difficult.

As it happened, early morning June 8th, I began experiencing contractions and had the 'bloody show' that often indicates true labor.

My husband was at work, but, fortunately, he was not on a call and came home right away.

After arriving home, weary and concerned, at about two in the morning, my contractions gradually became less and less severe and eventually diminished altogether. We were both disappointed, to say the least.

To make what could be a long story shorter, the next night I finally went into true labor at about the same time of night, (an infinitely scary feeling) but soon the long, hard months would be over and I would finally meet my son!

Because I absolutely hate hospitals, I labored at home until I felt I was far enough along to start pushing once we arrived.

Luckily, I arrived already dilated to eight centimeters, so my remaining labor time only lasted about 1-2 hours, and Samuel Edward Goslin arrived at 7:11 am...

Despite the long months of chronic indigestion and perpetual discomfort, our little boy has proved to be one of the sweetest and coolest babies around, in my humble opinion. πŸ™‚

Thank you so much for reading about our life, if you actually made it this far.

Up next week for the blog, more get-myself-back-in-shape recipes and a great Friday Finds with some of the ways that help me tone up after giving birth.

    Have a great weekend!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! He is beautiful...and third babies can definitely be troublesome for the pregnancy and often the labor as well, as I am an L&D nurse with many years of experience can verify. But, you made it and now you can relax and enjoy your new addition!! Many happy days to you and your family.

Congratulations on a beautiful perfect baby boy. Your children are all just perfectly gorgeous! My husband and I had two boys before we got our daughter, and you had your daughters first. Good job! When my daughter was born, I also had the feeling that our family was complete, and we have all had and shared much happiness over the years. Best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful life and much love and laughter.

Congratulations!!!!!! How exciting is this! πŸ™‚ I'm in the same boat at the moment..LOL. At my 37 week appointment I was already 4cm dilated..and now at 38 weeks, I have bother sets of grandparents watching me like a hawk hoping my daughter will be born this weekend, while my coastie husband is on duty. Ha! I told them she is stubborn like her mother and the more they pester her to come out now, the longer she will stay in there. LOL. But so happy to hear your baby boy is finally here, healthy and positively adorable!!! πŸ™‚ enjoy him...boys are mamas boys to the core πŸ˜‰ I know mine is...
