Protein Guacamole Dip - This delicious dip combines creamy avocado with cottage cheese for a healthy, high protein snack!
So, I tried avocado brownies last week, and I have to say, they weren't for me.
This is surprising, given my love for avocado in sweet recipes!
I can see avocado being a good fat replacement for those who have dairy and coconut allergies. In my case, however, I prefer to have avocado in other things, like smoothies and this guacamole dip!
Guacamole meets cottage cheese
This recipe has 'been in the family' for two generations now, having been passed down from my mom to me.
She adapted it from a friend in college that originally used sour cream. My mom wanted to use cottage cheese in place of the sour cream, and a new, divine delight was born!
The cottage cheese actually adds a nice texture that you don't get with sour cream, and I personally like the taste better.
Cottage cheese also amps up the protein factor, making this feel much more healthy when you're scooping it up with fried tortilla chips, lol.
If you're looking for a good way to eat this, try my daughter's Super Simple Mexican Food in a Bowl recipe.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do!
