Some of my favorite posts by other bloggers are those where they share information about products, beauty tips, nutrition, etc.
‘Things Worth Noting’, ‘Friday Five’, and ‘Tuesday Things’ are just some of the titles that these types of posts go by. Wanting to join in the fun, I’m adding ‘Wednesday Wisdom’ where I will highlight some of my own finds! I love that this blog can be such a valuable exchange of information, so I hope you comment and let me know what you think, as well as providing your own wisdom. 🙂
Let’s get started!
Remember when Biore Pore Strips were all the rage? Well, now you can make your own AND they’re A LOT cheaper AND they work! Gelatin and milk are all you need, and you’re about 15 minutes away from baby soft skin. 😀
My latest read, and I’m loving it! Daphne Oz is one of my favorite foodies…beautiful, talented, and incredibly health-savvy. Her new book, Relish, has tons of great meal ideas, including smoothies, healthy dinners, and drool-worthy desserts.
3. Potato Water
My latest venture in the kitchen for making gluten-free baked goods is this old-time concoction.
To make it, I bring a 3/4-1 pound russet potato and four cups of water to boil and then reduce it to a simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat, mash the potato a bit and let the mixture cool to room temperature. Drain as much of the potato flesh as you can, and reserve the ‘water’ to be used in place of milk or other liquid in baked goods.
The starch from the potato is extracted into the water, making it very useful in gluten-free baking. I’ve successfully made an oatmeal banana bread that will make its way here soon!
I found this on Pinterest and just loved the idea!
