It has certainly been awhile since my last WIAW! I found myself with a bit more time this week, so I thought I'd revive my once favorite post.
In case you're wondering, this is a glimpse into what I eat in a day, though actual amounts are not written.
Hopefully you find this a bit interesting!
I'd wager that four out of seven mornings begin with this chocolate berry smoothie. I had a version of it in the past, but I need to update the recipe, as it has changed over the years with my candida.
It contains avocado, cocoa, frozen strawberries and blueberries, honey, walnuts, and my Rich and Creamy Hemp Milk.
This is my favorite way to eat it...out of my tumbler, with a spoon, loaded with goji berries.
I still love my salads for lunch!
Old habits die hard, I guess. I fill my bowl with green leaf lettuce, spinach, red cabbage, chopped red bell pepper, sliced cucumbers, TONS of scallions, and grated carrot. I top it with a big handful of raw pumpkin seeds and about 1-2 cups of chopped chicken.
The whole thing then gets doused with my Creamy Cilantro Dressing.
I find that my health does best having a treat sometime shortly after lunch.
I typically head to the gym around 4pm, so I need the extra carbs and caffeine (if it's chocolate) to power me through my workout.
I also find that if I consume sweets of any kind at night (even fruit), I wake up with mucus in my throat.
On this day, I made my Home Alone Chocolate Cake...
I wanted to try a few variations with the base recipe, so I actually made three different versions!
My husband and Natty both got their own cakes, and we topped them each with a big dollop of freshly whipped cream.
I tried something new tonight, as I wasn't in the mood for my typical chicken and rice...
This Spanish potato omelet was a hit with me and Nat. Jade absolutely hates eggs, so she picked through it, just selecting the potatoes.
I thought it was awesome, and have it in mind to share in the future.
I typically end my night with a large cup of mixed teas. I'm not too concerned with how they all taste together, so I just mix various herbs together, including peppermint, ginger, turmeric, rosemary, and cinnamon.
This combo helps me sleep and helps my digestion greatly.
What have you all been eating lately?
