Celestial Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. dairy-free milk of your choice
  • 2 T. cocoa powder
  • 2 T. carob or more cocoa powder
  • 1 T. arrowroot
  • 2 T. sweetener turbinado, honey, maple syrup, etc.
  • 1 t. vanilla
  • 10 drops liquid stevia
  • pinch of salt weird, but don't skip it!
  • cinnamon for sprinkling atop

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, whisk the water with the cocoa and carob powders, sugar, and salt until smooth.
  • Place the saucepan on the stove, and turn the heat to medium high.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and the arrowroot.
  • Heat the water/cocoa mix until fairly hot.
  • Whisk in the arrowroot slurry and bring the mix to a boil, stirring continuously.
  • Once thickened, remove pan from heat.
  • Stir in vanilla and stevia.
  • Top as desired!

Notes
