No Yeast Breadsticks

Soft breadsticks made with whole grain spelt flour; NO yeast or sugar!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup + 2 Tbsp spelt flour
  • ¾ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • cup milk of your choice

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees
  • Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Stir in the milk.
  • Gather all the dough together and knead it until it is a smooth ball.
  • Cover the dough ball with your mixing bowl for 10 minutes.
  • Roll the dough out into a 5 x 3 inch rectangle (1/2 inch thick).
  • Cut the rectangle into six equal-sized sticks and place in a well-greased 8 x 8 inch baking dish.
  • Brush the tops with a bit of olive oil or melted butter and top with a sprinkle of parmesan or sesame seeds, if desired.
  • Bake for 13-15 minutes until golden.
