Ingredients

CHOCOLATE BASE:

  • 5 Tablespoons coconut oil melted
  • 4 Tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • teaspoon salt

NOUGAT LAYER:

  • 4 Tablespoons coconut oil melted
  • 3 Tablespoons milk of your choice
  • 2 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup +2 Tablespoons oat flour
  • teaspoon sea salt

CARAMEL:

  • 8 soft dates
  • 2 Tablespoons peanut butter I use salted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoon water

Instructions

  • Begin with room temperature ingredients. Cold ingredients can cause your coconut oil to clump.
  • Mix together the ingredients for the chocolate base until well combined.
  • Pour the mix into a small baking dish (I use a 7 x 5 inch Pyrex dish).
  • Put the dish into the freezer until hard (about 10-15 minutes).
  • Mix together the ingredients for the nougat layer until well combined.
  • Pour the nougat layer onto the hardened chocolate base.
  • Set in the freezer until the nougat layer is solid (about an hour).
  • Process the ingredients for the caramel layer in a small food processor until well combined.
  • Spread the caramel mix atop the hardened nougat layer (wet and use your hands for this, as it is very thick.
  • Freeze again until set (30-60 minutes).
  • Cut into 12 equal bars and enjoy!
