    My Favorite Immune System Supplements

Published: Mar 19, 2020 · Modified: Jun 13, 2022 by Lauren · This post may contain affiliate links · 3 Comments

    Greetings!

In this unique time, I thought I'd share some of my favorite supplements for immunity.

A few of these are relatively new to me, but I'll explain below why they've been included.

    Colostrum

This is a recent purchase upon the recommendation of my naturopath. While this was advised for my overall immune system, I have noticed an incredible difference in my food allergies! Because of that, I assume it's doing something for my immunity, though that would be a side note to the allergies. I opted for the more expensive brand, given that it doesn't have added fillers, and, honestly, it was the best reviewed. There are other colostrums available that are far cheaper though, it just depends on your view.

    Vitamin D

Believe it or not, this is a newer addition to my routine.

With all of my recent health issues, my doctor tested my vitamin D levels, and they came back pretty low. While I live in one of the sunniest states, when winter comes, I just don't seem to get out much!

I'm finding this to be a huge help, in particular with my mood and pain, which I've been having trouble with since Micky turned about two months old.

My thought for vitamin D is that if you're not low, it may not do much for you. If you're like me, however, I think it can be a great help!

If you're looking for a way to test your levels and don't want to see a doctor, check out Everly Well. They have tons of self-pay tests you can take, one of which is for vitamin D.

    Vitamin C

My mom used to tell me to take a teaspoon of vitamin C, every hour ON the hour to rid myself of sickness.

While I have found this to be very effective, it can be hard on the tummy to take so much! Hence, I usually add this in in a more modest amount, pairing it with other supplements mentioned here.

I love Hulda Clark's brand, as it has NO added fillers! A huge plus for super-sensitive individuals, like myself.

    Grapefruit Seed Extract

Another new addition to my line-up, I initially purchased this for candida. I'm finding, however, that it makes me feel generally more 'well'.

The reviews for this stuff are incredible, ranging from helpful with candida to both gut and skin issues.

I've had a rash from candida that only began fading once adding this to my routine, so I feel like it's helping!

    Elderberry

I'm such a fan of elderberry, and it has been a tried and true remedy for me.

Whenever I begin to feel something coming on, a dropper full gets me feeling better within 30 minutes!

My favorite brand is the Planetary Herbals liquid formula, but this one by Honey Gardens is also great! My kids will take both brands without any problem.

I hope everyone is doing well! Let me know what helps your immunity in the comments.
